Anne of Green Gables makes this remark reflecting on the beauty of autumn.
“October was a beautiful month at Green Gables, when the birches in the hollow turned as golden as sunshine and the maples behind the orchard were royal crimson and the wild cherry trees along the lane put on the loveliest shades of dark red and bronzy green, while the fields sunned themselves in aftermaths.”
Another autumn, another turned page...
Maybe that’s the reason I always find myself doing makeover during the change of seasons.
To live in-sync harmoniously with nature.
Now it’s the high time for my autumn patio makeover!
I want something different than what I’ve done before.
I don’t know how to express it, but something that when I squeeze my eyes closed, as tight as possible - I can still think of my favourite autumns.
The earthy smell of oak wood.
To feel the gentle, golden sun in my skin.
The juicy autumnal fruit, red and ripe from a farm.
Some rough, raw and honest textures.
To use what I have.
To use what the world gives me.
To use the glorious days of autumn.

STEP 1: BOUGHT AN OLD WINE BARREL TO USE AS A RAIN CATCHER
I really like the wine barrel, since it's aesthetically pleasing yet has great practical value. I use it to water my vegetables garden. It helps saving so much water and money.

STEP 2: REMOVING THE TEMPORARY STUFF

Wheat harvesting season is coming to an end and farmers have an abundant amount of hay. We paid 2€ for each!
STEP 5: A SIMPLE, RUSTIC TABLE
I used two old cases of wine as the legs which costs around 8€ each.
For the table surface, we just bought a solid oak plank from a local carpenter.
Thickness 6cm - Width 75cm - Length 180cm - Cost 80€
It's super heavy!
Also, the firewood will make the legs even more stable, and they elevate the table's look so much.
STEP 6: ADDING AUTUMNAL TOUCHES
We went to a farm shop in the nearby to buy some pumpkins.

I strongly believe that time spent not being parents makes for stronger parents. It helps restore a sense of identity for us.

Một mùa thu mới, một trang sách mới…
Có lẽ đó là lý do mỗi dịp chuyển mùa mình lại trang trí sửa nhà.
Để đồng điệu với nhịp đập của thiên nhiên.
Đúng lúc trang trí lại hiên nhà đón thu đây rồi!
Mình muốn làm khác với những gì mọi khi đã làm.
Mình không biết phải diễn đạt thế nào, nhưng để khi nhắm mắt lại, chặt thật chặt - những mùa thu yêu thích đã qua sẽ sống lại trong mắt.
Mùi đất của gỗ sồi.
Để cảm nhận nắng vàng dịu nhẹ trên da.
Cây trái mùa thu ngon ngọt, chín đỏ lấy từ trang trại.
Cảm giác thô ráp và trung thực.
Để sử dụng những gì mình có.
Để sử dụng những gì thế giới đã tặng.
Để sử dụng những ngày huy hoàng của mùa thu.
